Let’s do this

Posted: February 10, 2011 in General

It is time, get on board or get left out, as the saying goes right? Time to join the social networking age and not just be a follower, but a leader.  Lend a hand, a tip, an insight, a different point of view, or maybe just get the word out to help another.  I have a deep-rooted passion for sports, health, fitness and nutrition. I listen, watch, read and stay up-to-date with latest trends and topics and now its MY TURN!  I have done sports radio in the past and yet may do so again in the future.  I always have had strong opinions, excellent debates and very good knowledge of not just the X’s and O’s of sports but the topics that matter and change lives and cultures. Never been afraid to voice those opinions either and let others deduce for themselves their own conclusions.  I will try to tackle many of the hard-hitting topics that are in the everyday life of athletes. Suprise, but what we see on television and hear on the radio is not exactly what goes on behind the scenes or in the locker room.  The explosion of the social media scene has given us access to these high-profile sports figures that, since the dawn of 7 figure contracts, the general public has been cutoff from.  Sans the occasional mall appearance or book signing event that gives one about 3.5 seconds for a quick “hello ______, your my favorite player in the world, will you please sign this for me”; “NEXT!”.  I myself have been the beneficiary of many, yet brief, interactions with great athletes who actually take the time to reply and respond to intelligent questions or quick-witted responses.  I have thoroughly enjoyed these moments of text-exchanges and it has impressed even more to my psyche that they really are just people too that have been blocked from the masses of humanity by PR people and team security, just doing what they are told.  Hopefully in the blogs to come I will be able to share some of these memorable “tweets” with you as well as shine some light into the backgrounds and lives of these athletically gifted individuals.  A fresh approach maybe, young insight, new concepts, all yet to come.  Also I hope to use this opportunity to pass along other helpful, useful tidbits as well along the lines of fitness, nutrition, recipes and such. I am definitely looking forward to jumping head first into the deep end of the social media pool…

Or it could just be another knowledgable sports enthusiast that’s sick and tired of hearing and seeing all the so called experts and their opinions that are usually wrong! Thx bro
